The Premier Soccer League rookies Chippa United have reportedly fired their fifth coach of the season on Thursday.

Wilfred Mugeyi, who succeeded Farouk Abrahams earlier this year, was shown the doors just a day after his side lost 2-1 to SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Meanwhile, Mugeyi confirmed his exit from the Chilli Boys with Soccer-Laduma.

“Unfortunately, there’s no more going forward because I got sacked today (Thursday)," he told Laduma Official Website.

"You are the first to know that. I wasn’t told the reason. Chippa sent Wanda (Mbenguzana) to tell me the news. Roger has been fired as well,” he said.

The Mother City outfit made headlines earlier in the season following the news of axing Manqoba Mngqithi after two games in the start of their maiden Premier Soccer League campaign.

With only six games remaining, Chippa United are placed at the bottom of the log with 16 points, and seems to be the firm relegation candidates.
